As we embark on this new crazy journey I am tapping into some of you to help our barreALLEY community out with easy activities to do at home.

This is Juleen from @JustSimplyReal check out her blog and instagram for more activities!

SWAT IT!

Here’s a fun and simple kinesthetic activity for your kids to kill some time.  It’s super easy to set-up, can work for a variety of ages, and does not require a lot of materials! For those of you doing learning from home, this is easily adaptable to many subject areas!

Supplies:

  • paper

  • markers

  • fly swatter or spatula

  • tape

Directions:

On small pieces of paper, write numbers, letters, sight/vocabulary words, shapes, colors, math facts, etc.

Tape pieces to the wall or lay on the counter

Let child ’SWAT’ the paper as you call it out

For vocabulary, read the definition and have your child swat the word that matches the definition

For math facts, read the problem and the child can swat the answer

*You can make this more independent by having child roll dice, count and match, pull letters/words/colors/shapes/definitions from a pile of cards!

Have fun!
